Is It Ok to Spray Tan While Using Retin-A?

I recently spray tanned a person that had started using Retin-A. They finally gave up the tanning bed after many years of use, and wanted to converted to spray tanning. She informed that she was using Retin-A. I Googled the affects of a spray tan if a client is using Retin-A and there was no definite answer. Well, since then I have first hand experience to share with you Retin-A users. The answer is …..NEVER SPRAY YOUR FACE! When NEVER!!!! Retin-A can make your skin really sensitive, it is designed to take off some dead layers of your skin and spray tanning is all about putting color on your skin. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know these are opposites, and will produce opposite results. My client’s color initially look so good going on, she had a beautiful dark tan that was not orange. Well not orange till the morning that is. Yep after her morning shower she texted me to inform me that her skin was ever so slightly orange on her face. I of course was worried called the manufacture of my ALL organic spray solution and asked what went wrong??? What did I do? Here is what they told me. It doesn’t matter what solution you use, do not ever spray your face if you are using Retin-A it WILL turn orange. No one wants to look orange except for Donald Trump LOL. He needs my assistance and should book me for the next 4 years :-) They suggested that you get a darker foundation to wear on your face to match the color of your spray tan. Much easier than layering on makeup to hid the orange.
